Bone – Bearing the Self: Bones are the internal crystalline structure of the body.
Bones have a mineralized outer hardness and a honeycombed internal structure.
Bones, muscles, tendons and ligaments function together to generate and transfer movement in space and time.
The contraction of muscles along with the rigging of tendons and ligaments form a network of tension.
As the muscles contract, the incompressible bones begin to move.
Hence, movement is an island of compression in a moving sea of tension.
Bone is piezoelectric.
Under compression bone generates electricity.
So stress generates an electrical signature.
Osteoblasts are bone-forming cells.
Osteoclasts are bone-consuming cells.
Osteoblasts and osteoclasts, coupled together, sculpt bones based on compression.
New bone is characterized by haphazard organization and is mechanically weak.
Mature bone has a regular parallel alignment and is mechanically strong.
From a subconscious self point of view, bone is the core foundation of the psyche.
From a traumatized subconscious self point of view, bone cannot bear movement in the world.
From a traumatized subconscious self point of view, the psyche is compelled to be brittle rather than elastic.
From a traumatized subconscious self point of view, weakness is not tolerated in the psyche.
When the subconscious self is empty, the psyche is strong and elastic.
When the subconscious self is empty, bone continually forms and dissolves.
